DescriptionCounty Armagh is situated in the province of Ulster in the north of Ireland, just below Lough Neagh. It is often called the orchard county as it is the centre of apple growing in Ireland for many years. The name Armagh comes from the Irish, gaelic word Ard Macha, meaning the hill of Macha, the seat of the High kings of Ulster from 350 B.C. to 332 A.D..
