DescriptionThis wall plaque is based on the art work found in the Book of Kells and similar manuscripts of the time. These manuscripts were hand written by monks that lived in numerous monastic sites in Ireland around the 6th – 10th century A.D. The monks sometimes used the borders of the pages to doodle or they used animal patterns or small figures to fill out larger illustrations. This angel is one of those figures , perhaps it was a self portrait of the scribe or monk, carrying the manuscript he was working on. This wall plaque is 180mm x 110mm x 20mm in size.The wall plaque is available in brass ( as shown in the image) bronze or pewter finishes.
