About this piece 9 CARAT GOLD WITH CULTURED PEARL This pendant by Martina Hamilton represents a fusion between the delicate detail of structures that occur in nature, and the skill and attention to detail of a designer. The pendant was inspired by a random worn fragment of scallop shell picked up from a rock pool near Streedagh in County Sligo, along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. Martina has used the natural rigid fluting of the shell, weathered down to gentle undulations, as a means to catch and re-emit light, giving these earring a delicate yet radiant iridescence.
