Vintage print of a English Water Spaniel after Mahler, a chromolithograph from 1938. The print was produced in France and is titled L’Epagneul D’eau Anglais. The breed became extinct in the first part of the 20th century. The paper size is 7 1/2 by 11 inches with the print area 6 by 9 inches. The original tissue covers unusually on these prints have the breed traits in French and is included with the print. Print is in very good condition for age, paper will show ageing and some marks. Good margins on the print for framing. The prints where published originally for Les Chiens de Chasse printed in St Etienne by D’armes et Cycles The original paintings of the dogs where executed by P Malher a known animal painter and a younger artist called Castellan.
