I wasn't pleased with the old traditional style giant roof basket style for the full size vans and I needed something I could solidly mount my awning to along with bike racks, a new roof top water tank and move my MaxTrax up top instead of strapped to the rear tire. I quick call to Victory and a chat with Lee who helped me configure the few add on's I would need to accomplish my goal, and a huge thumbs up on the recommendation to get the 270 degree awning mounts, those things are STOUT! After assembling it on the ground I put it up top, fastened the halves together and found that the brackets weren't in the rain gutters, they appeared too narrow. I semi panicked call to Victory just before closing time, again with Lee, suggested I loosen all the bolts to let the rack be a little more floppy and loose and see if the brackets will then line up. It made sense and I did read that in the instructions to leave everything loose so I did and I was very happy when everything just started falling into place! The rack is all mounted, awning attached, Maxtrax, water tank and soon a storage box. It looks great and is extremely solid. My only advice is that when you are inserting your hardware in the t slots, since the hardware can only be inserted from one end, make sure you don't plan to put something on the other side of what you are attaching next as you will then have to undo your fasteners to slide your hardware across to the next project. Essentially, start filling your rack from the end opposite where you insert your t slot hardware. Might be nice to allow t slot hardware to be inserted at either end of the rail rather just one. Newest Questions Oldest Questions Newest Answers Oldest Answers Q Shannon • 02/03/2022, 5:09:43 PM How much weight can my extended roof carry with a rack like this? A 02/16/2022, 9:53:14 AM We have no official weight capacity on this rack as we have no official weight capacity on the roof of the van. Q Shannon • 02/03/2022, 6:11:29 PM Any custom options for those of us with roof vents etc? A 02/07/2022, 9:42:27 AM We don't have custom options available. If a vent were to interfere with one of the crossbars, the one in the way could be removed. Q Rich Foley • 04/21/2022, 2:01:46 PM I weigh 160 lbs, can I stand and walk on this? Can you easily mount Yakima/Thule accessories? What does the light bar cut out look like? Are the crossbars extruded aluminum? A 04/26/2022, 10:27:48 AM Yes, you could stand up there. You can mount Thule accessories using something like the Thule Mighty Mounts to adapt them to crossbars. Checkout any of our other roof racks (Tacoma for example) for a picture of the fairing cutout style. Yes, the crossbars are extruded aluminum. Q tyler • 05/24/2022, 2:49:54 PM Can you mount accessories on the side like an awning? and if so would the rack standup to off-road use? A 05/24/2022, 5:11:56 PM Yes, you can mount an awning using our awning mounts. Q Johny Ray • 07/08/2022, 3:52:26 AM From the assembly PDF it looks like the cross bars are extruded aluminum similar to 8020. What series would the corresponding 8020 be? A 07/08/2022, 10:41:24 AM 10 series Q Brad • 09/27/2022, 1:08:44 PM I want to mount solar panels to the crossbars. What issues, if any, would I need to address when drilling solar panel brackets to the crossbars? The PDF illustrates the crossbars as having ridges along the length. A 09/28/2022, 3:21:28 PM Should not have any problems; we have drilled holes in the solar panel mounting brackets and bolted them directly to the crossbars using bolts and t-nuts at our shop without issue. Q Kristofer Shelton • 03/18/2023, 11:28:24 AM What type of aluminum is the rack made of? Can you provide the t-slot bar dimensions? A 03/30/2023, 2:59:46 PM The side rails are 5052, the crossbars are 1" x 3" profile, and are made from aluminum extrusion. Q Lynnette peluso • 05/04/2023, 8:12:14 PM Hi you mentioned that you don’t have a weight capacity. Does this sit on the roof and the gutters? Will this cause roof issues or damage if you walk on it or load it too heavy? What kind of warranty does this carry? A 05/08/2023, 3:25:47 PM It does sit on the gutter mounts. Yes too much weight could damage the rain gutters. We have had customers with large rooftop tents on these without issues, however. Our warranty policy can be found here: https://www.victory4x4.com/SARP.html Q tim • 10/31/2023, 4:38:58 PM what size are the cross bars A 11/10/2023, 12:08:56 PM The crossbars are 1x2" and 60 inches long. Q Jose • 01/14/2024, 6:19:56 PM Does it require a professional to be installed? And would this be compatible out of the box with version E150 XL 2014? A 01/19/2024, 11:39:59 AM This rack would fit on that model but does not have to be installed by a shop, it is something that can be done in a driveway or garage with common tools. Q Jake • 02/25/2024, 5:23:10 PM How tall is this rack installed? My van has 6" of clearance to fit in the garage. A 05/31/2024, 3:48:11 PM From the tallest point of the roof line, you'd be adding about 3-4" of overall height. Q Jeremy • 05/30/2024, 1:09:11 AM Do the crossbars have slots for the mount down rings? A 05/31/2024, 3:35:39 PM Yes, you can mount these tie down rings directly into the channels of the crossbars. https://www.victory4x4.com/product/046-0065.html Q Jeremy • 05/30/2024, 9:05:08 PM Do the crossbars have slots for the mount down rings? A 06/20/2024, 11:18:12 AM Yes, there are two channels on both the top and bottom sides of the crossbars and 1 on either side.
